Musical Bamboo Monograph

ENG: Today is World Bamboo Day, an initiative established in 2009 by the World Bamboo Organization (WBO) to raise global awareness of bamboo’s environmental, economic, and cultural benefits. As this is a special day, I would like to share here a preliminary table of contents as well as the beginning of the introduction to my forthcoming academic monograph. As my project enters its final six months, I am about to complete the manuscript for my monograph, which draws on my long-term, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary fieldwork and which is a revised and expanded version of my PhD thesis. I have restructured the chapters and content, and included new collaborative ethnographic materials focusing on the sounds of musical bamboos. I am currently seeking publishers interested in this book project. I will keep you updated and share further progress here.

ESP: Hoy es el Día Mundial del Bambú, una iniciativa establecida en 2009 por la Organización Mundial del Bambú (WBO, por sus siglas en inglés) para sensibilizar globalmente sobre los beneficios ambientales, económicos y culturales del bambú. Dado que hoy es un día especial, me gustaría compartir aquí el índice preliminar, así como el comienzo de la introducción de mi monografía académica. A medida que mi proyecto entra en sus últimos seis meses, estoy a punto de finalizar el manuscrito de mi monografía, que se basa en mi trabajo de campo interdisciplinario y transdisciplinario, y que es una versión revisada y ampliada de mi tesis doctoral. He reestructurado los capítulos y el contenido, e incluido nuevos materiales etnográficos colaborativos centrados en los sonidos de los bambús musicales. Actualmente estoy buscando editoriales interesadas en este proyecto de libro. Les mantendré informadxs y compartiré aquí los avances.
